Who are you? What do you want? What goals are you working towards? Are you putting in the time and effort to achieve them? What makes you feel good? Are you doing those things regularly? Are you happy?
As we come out on the other side of this pandemic, I think a lot of us are really trying to figure life out again, and rightfully so. We lost 2 years of the lives we were used to, and though we're now somewhat back to it, just as much as the world changed, we have too.
So I ask you again, now, today, in October of 2022, who are you? What do you want? What goals are you working towards? Are you putting in the time and effort to achieve them? What makes you feel good? Are you doing those things regularly? Are you living the life you truly want right now?
My birthday is today (Oct 6 baby) and every year I set aside time to reflect on the past year, reset and prepare myself for the year ahead. This year I’m inviting you to join me!
If you haven’t already, have a read of my 10 lessons I learned from 25 that I’m taking into 26 blog for an outlook on the changes I’ve experienced over the last year, and the lessons I'll be taking with me into the year to come!
---------
I think it's so important to reflect on the questions above often so that you're aware of where you are in respect to the life you say you want and make sure you're making the necessary decisions to align yourself with that to be genuinely happy.
It’s so easy to fall into the routine and get lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, social media, friends, etc but at some point, you have to break that cycle and choose yourself over everything else, so that you can become who tf you really desire to be.
It’s time to choose you and put you first sis so that you can become the woman that has the life that you want and deserve.
Below you’ll find the questions I like to sit down, think about and answer to help me reset, refocus and ensure I'm moving in the right direction. I encourage you to take your time as you answer each one and be real with yourself (it’s only for your eyes). Give yourself at least 10 mins of undisturbed time to reflect and answer authentically. [If you have to, set a timer on your phone, and don't get up until it's done. You can spare your goals 10 minutes!!]
CHOOSE YOU remember? This practice always gives me so much clarity and brews motivation for the year ahead. I hope you join me and find value in it too.
Reflect & Reset:
- Who are you? >> What kind of person do you consider yourself to be and who do you want to be?
- Quit playing small and get CLEAR on what you want >> What do you want? Pick 3 main areas in your life to focus on and write out the details of what that looks and feels like. How much money? What job role? What kind of relationship?
- Ditch the self-sabotage and BELIEVE in yourself >> Create a let go list. Write a list of everything you need to let go of to achieve/have the things you want. Think; people, things, circumstances, routines, habits, and mindsets.
- ALIGN with your next-level self >> Think about and write down everything your future, next-level self (with all the things) is doing and doing differently than what you're doing right now. What did she do to get that success? What did she commit to? How did she have to treat herself? Get clear on that, write it all out and start stepping into that. Let this list hold you accountable.
I want to remind you that you are capable of having every damn thing you want!!! But it’s going to rely on you and your daily decisions.
You might have to swap those nights out with nights in for a while, might have to cut back on dinner or lunch dates, might have to give up a night of new episodes, and have some hard conversations…but I promise it will be worth it. You are not missing out on anything when you’re working on yourself.
All of that will still be there when you've succeeded and you’ll be able to enjoy it so much more. The people that truly love you won’t judge you, talk negatively about you or jump to conclusions, they’ll be there to cheer you on. [Or better yet, working on their selves too!]
You are your biggest investment, so don’t skimp out on that! Forget the noise, forget the fomo and choose you sista! We got this!
You only get out what you put into it!
If you're going to join me on this years reflection let me know in the comments!!
With love always,
Ky
